There is no better way to bring people together than with desserts.

One of my favorite French dessert is the mille-feuille.
Mille-feuille means a thousand sheets. This special dessert is made using puff pastry layered with pastry cream.

This dish is made with three layers of puff pastry and layers of crème pâtissière or custard. The top pastry layer can be sprinkled with powdered sugar or covered with fondant or you have chocolate and cream icing.
There are many variations of the mille-feuille. The most well know variation is called the Napoléan.
Some chefs even make savoury versions of the mille-feuille.
If you ever visit a French cafe or pastry shop, do try out the mille-feuille.
